Stockholm
School of Theology /Teologiska Högskolan, Stockholm (THS)
is an independent university college. It is located at Bromma. THS is
a small school with approximately 500 students studying full time or part
time. THS offers no scholarships for studies.
STUDY
PROGRAMS
The
Theological Program is a four year program leading up to a Bachelor
of Theology. Future pastors and priests are offered training in Biblical
studies, Systematic theology, Historical theology, Practical theology
and Theology and the World. The program also involves various field courses
as part of their pastoral formation. From time to time The Theological
Program offers a few courses taught in English.
Religious
Studies as part of a teachers training program. This is a program
for those who aim at a teacher’s degree and the studies can be
included in a teachers training program at Lärarhögskolan (Stockholm
Institute of Education). To be admitted to this program or an individual
course, fluency in Swedish language is required.
Human
Rights and Democracy. The thematic education in human rights
is a two year program leading to a University Diploma in Human
Rights. The program consists of smaller units. Students can follow
the whole program or just one individual unit. Here is a selection
of courses offered in this field: Equal Value and Equal Rights,
Freedom of Religion and Conscience, Women and Human Rights, The
Rights of the Child, Human Rights Conventions as Practical Tools.
To be admitted to this program or an individual course, fluency
in Swedish language is required.
